On March 7, 2026, women gathered for the WeCircle walk on the Bear Creek Park track, beginning the morning with a peaceful walk in nature. Walking together side by side created space to slow down, connect, and enjoy the fresh air.
After the walk, we gathered for our circle conversation at the Surrey Art Centre to talk about a topic many women experience but do not always discuss openly — menopause.
During the circle, we shared that menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life, often beginning around the age of 45, though every woman experiences it differently. Some women may experience symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep changes, mood shifts, or fatigue.
Women shared experiences, asked questions, and supported one another through open conversation.
One of the yoga teachers in the circle also reminded us that simple practices can help support well-being during this stage, including:
- mindful breathing
- regular walking in nature
- gentle movement and staying active
- managing stress through calm practices
The discussion also encouraged women to learn more about menopause, speak openly with their doctors, make healthy lifestyle choices, and communicate with their partners and families.
“The more we educate women about menopause, the more confident and supported women feel through this transition.”
